Muhammed Zafar Iqbal (born 23 December 1952) is a Bangladeshi science fiction author, physicist, professor and activist. He is a professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. As of January 2018, he is currently the head of Electrical and Electronic Engineering .
Iqbal started writing stories at a very early age. He wrote his first short story at the age of seven. While studying at Dhaka University, Iqbal's story "Copotronic Bhalobasha" (Copotronic Love) was published in a local weekly magazine, Bichitra. Later he rewrote the story and published it as a collection of stories titled Copotronic Sukh Dukho.
